The Great Hall of NIS

The Great Hall of NIS

The Great Hall of NIS has been known to the citizens of Novi Sad as a place where diverse theatre plays, performances, music, spoken, and other programmes take place.

This state-of-the-art building in Narodnog Fronta Street is one of the well-known city determinants. It was built in 1988, although construction works began much earlier. Due to inflation and the war, the works were stopped, and ten years later this modern building was officially completed. Because of its appearance, the citizens called it the Carrington or the Kuwait building. The NIS building is still one of the most modern in the city, while its construction marked the beginning of the transformation of Liberation Boulevard into the city’s business and financial district.
