City Hall

City Hall

The City Hall is one of the most beautiful and imposing buildings in Liberty Square, in the very heart of the capital of Vojvodina, and is a symbol of Novi Sad’s rich cultural heritage. Built in 1895 in the Neo-Renaissance style, according to the project of the Hungarian architect György Molnar, the City Hall is a real architectural masterpiece. Classical music concerts are held in the beautiful ambiance of the Ceremonial Hall. With a capacity of around 250 visitors, the acoustic hall provides an intimate environment ideal for a variety of musical performances.

The City Hall, with its imposing tower, cupolas at each corner and a façade decorated with allegorical figures of Greek goddesses by the renowned sculptor Julije Anika, is a representative seat of the mayor that charms visitors. The most famous Novi Sad mayor was Svetozar Miletić.

The bronze plaques on the façade highlight Novi Sad’s fraternal ties with cities such as Modena, Chengchuan, Dortmund, Norwich, Budva and others.
